The LSC Community affords the ideal opportunity to undertake a multi-year research agenda on what works and why in shaping 21st century learning spaces for 21st century learners. The first step will be to assemble and analyze evidence from research already available, including from each of the various “communities” within the LSC: collaborating partners, design professionals, individuals, and institutions.
From an analysis of this research from within and beyond the LSC, a small number of research questions will be identified that will build on existing evidence about how attention to spaces matters to individual learners and as members of a campus community of learners. These questions will scaffold a research agenda that will be coordinated by a team of LSC researchers and will engage interested LSC colleagues throughout the process.
